Latest Jeremy and Preds Update

Sorry for the Delay, but things are very busy for me in my real life...so, let's get cracking.

Preds Fighting for Playoff Spot

The Predators are fighting for a playoff spot, hovering between 8th and 10th in the West. Come on, let's make a playoff push. Those of you in the Nashville area, did you know you are not supporting your team? Your attendance is 29th in the NHL, out of 30 teams! Let's go! You have a great group of guys, get out and support them!

Got to Say Hello to the Stunner Feb. 16

Jeremy and the boys came to Columbus February 16, and I and Jason were there, along with Jason's friend Patricia, to meet the Stunner and the Preds. Got many autographs, as I was better prepared this time, with the much hated (by me) folders with cuts for the cards. While I think this makes people who want autographs look like the hated dealers who sometimes show up, it is a necessary evil, especially since you have to walk and get autographs sometimes at a quick pace. Having them organized is so much better.

Better than the autos, Jeremy made this trip! He had just had an awesome night agianst Edmonton, getting into 3 fights and earning the game misconduct. However, his health was of concern. His nagging shoulder injury (once you pop it out, it is easier to do) hindered him in his battle with George LaRoque. But, he was game and kept on fighting. Jeremy is a warrior, and he showed it in battle against David (can't win a thing) Ling. Even as Nashville was making stupid mistakes quite frankly, Jeremy shone in his fight with Ling. He got in a few solid shots to the head that opened Ling up. I am sure the punishment would have continued, but Jeremy lost his balance and Ling fell on top of him. However, Jeremy made Ling bleed like a stuck pig. As a result, for most of that 1st period, Jeremy was changing jerseys and equipment. It was a great fight, and Jeremy skated well. He, the wife, and kids are doing great. He even told me to come down for the playoffs WHEN the Preds make it. I do not know if my finances can support that, but Jason and I are gonna try, because we are the founders of the Stevenson Stunner Club, and if Tennesseeans will not support the Preds, then darnit, we will!!!!!

Great fight, Jeremy! Excellent work! Now, the Preds need to catch fire!

2/15/2004 vs. EDM Steve Staios 1pd 07:23
Comments: Salo covers up the puck and these two start to push and shove. The gloves come off and it's all Stevenson from there. Stevenson gets Staios with two rights, then switches to the left hand and smokes Staios some more.
Voted winner: Jeremy Stevenson - Voted rating: 6.5

2/15/2004 vs. EDM Ethan Moreau 1pd 14:48
Comments: Moreau, looking to avenge the beating Staios took at the hands of Stevenson, challenges Jeremy right off the draw. They drop the gloves and briefly square off. They come together and Moreau loses his balance and goes to the ice. Stevenson doesn't throw while Moreau is down.

2/15/2004 vs. EDM Georges Laraque 2pd 09:35
Comments: The guy that should've went for revenge against Stevenson in the first place, Laraque goes right after Stevenson and they chat a bit. They drop the gloves and it's all Laraque. Stevenson gets in-tight, so Laraque throws about four lefts over the top and Stevenson hits the ice. They get back up and Laraque throws three more lefts over the top and down they go again. That's Stevenson's third FM of the game, so he's gone for good. Other Penalties: Stevenson received a game misconduct.

2/16/2004 vs. CBJ David Ling 1pd 03:21
Comments: They go right off the faceoff, the third fight in four seconds. Stevenson throws two rights that maybe grazed Ling and Ling responds with a left that grazed Stevenson back. Stevenson comes back with a right. They traded a few in-close shots, couldn't tell what hit. Then Stevenson looked to switch hands and hit Ling with a left or two and they fell. Ling was dripping blood all over and headed off.
Voted winner: Jeremy Stevenson - Voted rating: 5.4

2/20/2004 vs. ANA Cam Severson 1pd 07:27
Comments: The fight starts in front of the Nashville net. Stevenson and Severson start to push and shove and the gloves come off. They grab a hold of each other and Stevenson throws a right that hits a combination of forehead and helmet and sends Severson's helmet flying. After the right they start grappling and Stevenson tries another right that comes up short. Severson responds with two weak lefts that hit helmet or shoulder. Stevenson then wrestles Severson down to a knee and tries a right that comes up short. They continue on with the grappling and do a 180 and exchange rights to the back of the head or heck. Stevenson then throws an overhand right that connects to the back of Severson's head and sends the off-balance Severson to the ice. Stevenson tries another right when Severson was on his way to the ice and missed by a country mile and threw himself to the ice. They're both on the ice now and the linesmen move in.
